Accolades

Since this site's launch in December 2007, I've received many letters from readers in different countries. The favorable reception exceeded all my expectations, and I thank the readers for their support. The large volume of mail has been astounding, but the following random excerpts suggest the general response.

"This is refreshing! Wonderful ideas and funny commentary, too. I like the way you can blend serious analysis with touches of humour. I'll have to read the Ian Fleming novels again; you've brought up so many interesting ideas. Oh, I also agree with your views on Casino Royale, the recent film version. If there's one thing to criticize about the site, I wish you could have more updates. Thank you, thank you."
Genevieve Montclair - Nice, France
"Mr. Dunross, I like your insightful analysis of the Fleming novels. There are a lot of Bond sites covering primarily the news in the Bond universe, but I like how you focus on essays and film reviews. It's always a good day when I see some new writings on your site. I like the satire blended with the serious discussions. Keep up the good work."
Edgar - Vancover, British Columbia
"Well this is a surprise. I've always wanted to read something with depth about the Bond books and here you are, Mr. Dunross, offering such wonderful articles. You don't take yourself so seriously, which is endearing, but I think many readers will sense that there's more to you. The analysis of Quantum of Solace, the short story, was brilliant and you always have something new or fascinating to say in all the articles. Very funny, too. More please."
Christianne Van Curen - Vienna, Austria
"You made me want to re-read [Casino Royale] and all the Fleming classics again. I really must compliment you for the great analysis."
Alessandra - Milan, Italy
"Very clever work, Mr. Dunross. Who would have thought that Bond and Fleming could be subjects of serious literary criticism? I know you have great reverence for what the likes of Eco and Kingsly Amis have uncovered in the Fleming books. But as a professor of an English department, I think you're going to put us scholars out of work! Very erudite and very entertaining reading."
Darshan Chatrath - Surendranagar Area, India
"Ian, I've been disenchanted with the Bond films of late. Thank you for the wonderful film reviews. I hope the Bond producers are visiting your site so that they can get a clue of what Fleming was writing about."
Megan - Halifax, Nova Scotia
"Hey Mr. D, just want to thank you for the great work. It's so refreshing to read your articles, especially what you say in your film reviews without the gushing bias that I find at most of the fan sites or forums. You call it as you see it, and you've got the great Ian Fleming to fall back on with your great analysis. Thank you--for sharing your insights on Fleming, for having the courage to point out the flaws of the current Bond series while the rest of the media outlets are drunk with the Eon Kool-Aid. You blow them all away with your brilliance. Again, thanks for the great work."
Outback Jack - Perth, Australia

And, to be fair and balanced, I present my best hate letter:

"You have nothing but pretentiousness in your writing. The articles are nothing but time-wasters, all from the mind of a very depraved intellectual wanna-be trying to relieve himself of frustrations at the expense of us readers."
J.M. Peters - Boston, Massachusetts
